Russell Freeland (ROCDUV) is a self taught artist who has spent the last decades involved in designing and implementing works and events for a great many entities, both corporate and nonprofit. Believing in the power of art to engage and transform society, he has most often developed projects that invite large numbers of diverse participants to contribute to the collective beauty and relate messages of hope. In his more private projects he often presents a social riddle to be unraveled by the work’s progression. In either case, Freeland believes that there is always more to art than to be simply looked at or bought and sold.
